Home Arts

Home arts is the traditional fair-judging category for domestic and craft skills — baking, canning, sewing, quilting, flower arranging — judged separately from livestock and produce.

Home arts (sometimes "domestic arts") covers the judged exhibit hall entries that aren't livestock or field crops: baked goods, preserves and canning, needlework, quilting, and flower arranging are the most common categories. Entries are typically open to the public, not just farm families, and are judged and ribboned the same way livestock is.

The home-arts hall is usually indoors and air-conditioned, making it a reliable stop on a hot fair day regardless of what's happening on the midway.
