Home arts (sometimes "domestic arts") covers the judged exhibit hall entries that aren't livestock or field crops. Baked goods, preserves and canning, needlework, quilting, and flower arranging are the most common categories. Entries are judged and ribboned the same way livestock is.
The Guilford Fair and the Durham Fair both had home-arts competitions. The Cheshire Grange Community Fair was listed with exhibit competitions in gardening, baking, canning, flowers, and handicrafts that were open to the community.
